Background
After volunteering as a counselor and board member at a women's
resource center for 2+ years, Michele Petticrew felt God's calling in
Jan 2001 to oopen a center in Del Norte, CO. The nearest center was/is
50 miles away. Michele and her husband shared the vision with other
Christians in the community and the crisis pregnancy center was
birthed. They filed the necessary State and IRS documents and found a
location.
Gateway Church was instrumental in helping with the initial location,
paying utilities and donating a portion of their tithes to the center.
Opening Day - March 19, 2002
A prayer and dedication service was held and led by Pastor Mike Moore
and Director Michele Petticrew. The building they were housed
in
was sold and Gateway helped the center move into their present location
as of Oct. 2003. In 2005 Michele and her husband moved to
Collbran, CO but have stayed on as Board members.
The present director, Carlie Clark, came on in April 2005 and has
worked sacrificially since then. The center has flourished because of
the support given by many people.
Where are we headed?
We know the scriptures direct us to seek God's will for us. We know
that He has ordered our steps. We constantly seek His direction.
Presently, we are investigating a Sober New Years party and Sober Grad
Night as ways to break down the 'shame' barrier kids have with sharing
the news they are pregnant and needing help.
We continue to visit churches and schools, attend health fairs, hold
weekly classes, engage in fundraising events.
Won't you consider being a part of this vital ministry?
